Terms & Conditions

**All customers will be required to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE £20 deposit per dog. This is deducted from final payment**

 

1. Awareness: 

Please make us aware if your dog has any medical conditions with each visit. Also, please make it known to us, if there is any part of the grooming process they are not keen on. This is for everyone's safety, including your dog's. We also have a right to refuse any dog which may cause harm to itself or the staff of Top Dog. 

 

2. Females in season/pregnant:

Please inform us if your Female is in, or due in, season on the day of your appointment. They may need to be rescheduled, if there are intact males due in. We DO NOT accept any pregnant Females. 

 

3. Late Collection:

Top Dog is a one-on-one, multi-Groomer Salon with no cages. If you are later than a stated time, there will be an extra Late Collection charge of £5 per 15 minutes. Added to your final bill.

 

4. No Show:

You will be given a 10-minute window from your appointment time, before you are classed as a ‘No Show’. You will be required to pay 100% for the missed appointment. Any future appointments will also be cancelled, then rebooked once fee is paid.  

 

5. Cancelled Appointments: 

Should you cancel with less than 48 hours*, you will be charged 50% of the grooming session. A £20 non refundable deposit, per dog, will also be required on new bookings.

6. Fleas:

We ask that you please do your best to make sure your dog(s) does not have any Fleas before entering the Salon. If you know your dog has fleas, please cancel your appointment, so we can minimise the risk of transfer to others. Should we find fleas whilst your dog(s) are in our care, there will be a £8 charge per dog added to your final bill. 

 

7. Anal Glands:

Top Dog does not offer Anal Gland expression. We are not Vets, and doing so may cause more harm than good. We strongly recommend a trip to your Vet to get them checked and expressed, if needed. 

 

8. Matting:

Following the Animal Welfare Act, if your dog arrives with any matting in the coat, the Groomer will carry out work which is humanely best. This could result in shaving close to the skin to start over. This may also reveal skin problems, which were once covered by the matting. As the owner, you will take FULL responsibility for these. The cost of clipping off any matted coat will include a charge of £10. This will be added to your grooming session price. This is to cover the cost of maintenance of equipment used. **Should you not agree to the removal of the matted coat. We will not accept you for your grooming session. But you will still be charged 100% for the time slot**

We highly recommend keeping appointments 4-8 weeks apart, to help prevent matting. You may also want a short and practical style for easier maintenance. Please speak to your Groomer for advice.

 

9. Pricing: 

Top Dog price fairly & accurately. However, in some cases the original price quoted may change due to the dog’s behaviour, coat type and condition.  

 

10. Media: 

Photos & Videos may be taken of your Dog(s) for promotional purposes, such as Facebook, Instagram and on our website. Please let us know if you DO NOT wish for us to do this.

 

11. Strike Rule:

Top Dog is a small business. Should you miss more than 2 appointments with us, unfortunately, we will not be able to accept future bookings.

 

12. New Customers: 

If you are new to Top Dog. Please be aware, that should you fail to come to your first booking. We will require 100% for the missed appointment. We will also require a non-refundable £20 deposit, per dog for future bookings. If you are making an appointment for nail clipping, you will be required to pay 100% upfront.

 

13. Corrections:

Top Dog does their best to follow requested styling. However, should you leave the salon and find something you’re not happy with, you will have 2 days to return for us to make those corrections. We do not give refunds, as we have spent our time and products on your dog(s).

14. Data Safety

Should you not return to Top Dog after 1 year, or no longer require our services. You will be deleted from our system. If you return to Top Dog, you will be registered as a New Customer; and be required to fill out new information.

 

15. Nail Clipping

Whilst Top Dog does their absolute best at avoiding going too short when clipping nails, unfortunately it can happen. Especially if the dog moves suddenly or does not like having their nails clipped. We will do our best to stop any bleeding on site. However we ask you to try your best not to let them move erratically at home. As this can lead to the bleed starting again. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any discounts if this is to occur, due to our time already spent doing the clipping. 

 

16. Senior Grooms

Comfort over style. Groom for Senior/Elderly Dogs. No bath or drying in the salon. Bathing at home at least one day before is recommended. Short clipped body all over. Trimmed/shaved tail/head/ears, depending on breed. Nails clipped *not guaranteed due to possibility of dog becoming stressed*. A £10 equipment maintenance charge will be added to the final price. Time can vary depending on breed/age/general health. **Due to the nature of the groom, tidiness cannot be guaranteed**

 

17. Appointment Reminders

These are automatically sent out the day before your scheduled appointment. They are sent through our booking system and cannot be replied to; they are also complementary, and not to be relied upon to remember my appointment.
